Frequently asked questions

Can’t find your question? Do ask — you will always get an honest answer, including when something isn’t possible.

Care & availability

What types of childcare do you offer?

Lovicare offers personal childcare in families’ own homes. That can mean a regular nanny on recurring days, occasional babysitting, evening or weekend care, and flexible care whenever the schedule allows.

Can I book Lucy for a single evening or just a few hours?

Yes. One-off and shorter bookings are possible when there is availability. A minimum booking amount of €100 applies to bookings.

Does an introduction always have to happen first?

Yes. A good working relationship starts with trust. That is why we like to meet the family in person before the first day of care, go through the most important agreements and see whether it is a good match.

Is last-minute childcare possible?

Sometimes. Last-minute requests are always assessed on the basis of availability. We promise no permanent availability, but we will let you know what is possible as quickly as we can.

Which area is childcare available in?

We assess that per request, partly on the basis of location and travel time. Enter your town or postcode in the introduction request and we can judge straight away what is workable.

Rates & agreements

What does childcare cost?

The standard rate is €25 per hour for one child, €30 per hour for two children and €35 per hour for three children. Bookings start from €100.

Is there a call-out or start fee?

No. We do not work with a separate start fee. A minimum booking amount of €100 does apply to one-off bookings. If the regular rate, based on the number of children and the duration of the care, works out higher than €100, the regular rate applies.

How does the €100 minimum booking amount work?

Every one-off booking is a minimum of €100. If the normal hourly rate, based on the number of children and the duration, works out higher than €100, the regular hourly rate applies.

How does the rate for regular nanny care work?

For recurring care on set days we make a personal proposal after the introduction. In it we look at the number of hours, the days, the responsibilities and the practical arrangements, among other things.

Is the introduction free of obligation?

Yes. The introduction is free of obligation. Only when both sides want to continue do we make concrete arrangements about the care.

What happens if I need to cancel a booking?

The cancellation arrangements are clearly recorded in advance, so you know which terms apply before you book.

About Lucy

What experience does Lucy have?

Lucy has professional experience in childcare and also has experience caring for children in families’ own homes. During the introduction she is happy to tell you more about her background and her way of working.

Who comes to our home?

At the moment the care is carried out personally by Lucy. That way you know in advance who is looking after your children, and a trusted bond can develop.

Can relevant documents be inspected?

Relevant documents that are genuinely in place and valid can be discussed and inspected on request during the introduction.

Is communication in English possible?

Yes. Communication and care are possible in both Dutch and English.

Sleep coaching

Is sleep coaching available yet?

Not yet. Sleep coaching will soon be added to Lovicare’s services. As soon as the service is available, this will be stated clearly on the website.

Can I sign up already?

Yes. You can join the waiting list, with no obligation. That keeps you informed and means you will hear when sleep coaching becomes available. Signing up commits you to nothing.

Is sleep coaching medical advice?

No. Sleep coaching is not medical care and does not replace advice from a doctor or another healthcare professional. If you have medical concerns about your child, it is important to contact an appropriate healthcare professional.

Practical & privacy

What happens to the information I share through the website?

Your details are used to handle your request or message and are processed carefully. You will find more information in the privacy statement.

Are photos or information about my children shared online?

Not without explicit permission. Privacy and discretion around families and children come first.

Can I claim Dutch childcare allowance (kinderopvangtoeslag)?

Whether Dutch childcare allowance is possible depends on the care arrangement and the registrations it requires. Please do not assume the care automatically qualifies. If this is relevant to your situation, we are happy to discuss the current possibilities.
